How to remove the engine Volvo 460 1.9TD
Hello, i have to remove the engine from my Volvo 460 1.9TD, but i dont know do I have to remove transmission with engine? Or I can do it separately?

The easiest option is to remove the engine and gearbox as one unit.
You can remove the gearbox from the car through the wheelarch with the engine still attached, but its hard going and far easier to remove the lot, if your having to remove the engine then do it with the engine. I removed the lot when changing the clutch on my 460 1.9TD Should take about 3-4 hours work to do. If i recall correctly Disconnect fuel lines Disconnect all Electric connectors and earth straps. Disconnect Intercooler pipes Remove driveshafts Disconnect Exhaust Downpipe. Disconnect Clutch cable & Gear Linkage (if i recall you have to remove the airbox) Undo the engine mounts and lift out Last edited by Chesh740R; Dec 2nd, 2009 at 02:07. |
