Default Bit of a waste

Earlier i was at bridges scrapyard in pease pottage and my dad came across this good condition 240 just sat there looking totally out of place. The inside was almost mint and its done 61,000 miles on a b200k, it was in rather good nick all round (my crappy phone pics don't do it justice) and i can only guess it was an elderly persons car and they've passed away and someone inherited it or they can no longer drive and just scrapped it. I thought id put it on here incase anyone wants to go get bits off it so it hasnt been a total waste of a good car and as the older cars don't usually sit there for too long. It was rather annoying to see something in such good condition sat there with crushing imminent, aside from some monkey pulling the door cards off and the glovebox and grill the rest was all there, id of been more than happy to of given them the cash the scrapman gave them.

Indeed what a waste, looks in good condition.
I'll have to pay a visit next week and hope the rear bumper trims are still there, i'll just spray it black. Also the rear lights are worth having, took me over 6 months to find some decent replacements for mine.

Was the car in the lower yard on the right of the site office, or the bigger yard to the left? A few years ago they stopped you going in the lower "older car section" mid week only on weekends, saying it was something to do with H&S.

The car was in the main yard, you go left out of the entrance. The part usually with the best cars is usually only open at the weekend as it has stacked cars, the rear lights were a little cloudy but might clean up.

Im pretty sure once they have been out there its illegal for them to sell them but i may be wrong.

We also came across a banana sorry i mean vauxhall while there, god knows how much was spent on this heap of crap but its where it belongs now. Notice the spoiler on the floor, the lambo style doors and radioactive interior, didnt check while there but i bet it was taken for no tax or something.

Sadly not.
Once a car has passed the thresh-hold of the scrap yard it is issued with a Certificate of Destruction and can't be returned back to he road. There has been one or two exceptions, but not for a 'run of the mill' 240.

thats what i thought, my dad was telling me they got fined for breaking the law in the past. There was a police ph2 v70 apparently but we couldn't find it which was a shame.

Wow this is a quick moving the thread for the 200 section!

Just did a google search "yellow Vauxhall with lambo doors" and it bought up this:

As you say it had a few quid thrown at it back in the day!

wow, look at that ridiculous spoiler even funnier you can see on the boot where it was mounted is totally rotten i hadn't noticed before. Wonder how the person who spent/wasted all that cash on that car would feel seeing it now.
