Can you advise size and approx weight? You may be better using a groupage haulier eg DSV transport rather than a courier such as TNT, DHL etc. Size and weight matters.

To which part of Germany?
DHL is the most reliable in Germany so I'd recommend them

You will find it extremely difficult to find a courier that will take the items due to their length. There is some calculation that is done with length, width, height and weight and even a 2kg parcel that is over 160cm is classed as shipping an item over 40kg!! This makes it very very expensive indeed. I would hate to even hazard a guess with an item that is 200cm and 8kg.
Might be worth checking out 'Harvey1512' says above and see if their is a haulier firm that will take the package. Otherwise I think you'll find it hard to ship for much less than £200! |

Try both options, parcel company and groupage. I would recommend DSV for groupage, checkout their website for local depots but most quotes for the north come out of Manchester now.
All parcel companies are good now, not just DHL. Get a quote from them, TNT and UPS. They all track your parcel so items don't get lost in the way they used to. I suspect that a parcel carrier will probably be cheapest for this but there is no harm in asking the question. All carriers will need a full address and the weight and dimensions of the item. Your item will bulk out, volume rather than weight but this still wont cost too much, I would guess £60-£80. If you can find a friendly local firm that already ships using carriers then they may ship for you using their account. You will then simply pay them. Carriers quote based on the amount of business you give them so as this is a one off shipment you will pay top whack. Use someone who has an account and the charge tumbles. Shy bairns get nowt as they say in the North East. Good luck

Thanks for the suggestions guys, for reference went with www.parcelhero.co.uk, parcel was 5kg, 30cm x 30cm x 200cm and cost £38.42! Was collected the next day by Fedex. Very impressed.
