Thanks for the update - unless there's something else significant wrong with your engine, I should think that the Nissens rad will last a good few years.
I've drained down my system several times, and on every occasion I've also had the low coolant light on after a short drive, however on every occasion the next top-up has been all it's needed, so I'd suggest yours is behaving totally normally. Well done - hope it'll all be good for a while now.

Yeah, I checked the levels this morning and it needed another top up. Then did a 30mile round trip up and down the A1(M) and everything was fine, including the levels.
