Default Boot lock problem

When I try to open the boot on my 2006 S80 using the remote the boot unlocks but will not pop-up a few mm as it should, Also when I close the boot it will not re-lock! Is my boot lock faulty or is it the remote key?

Since you say the remote activates the lock although the lock doesn't complete its cycle, it would seem that there is nothing wrong with the remote and I'd look to the lock for the source of the problem. Just lubricating it might free up whatever is sticking and not allowing it to finish the lock/unlock cycle.

Mine dosn't pop up either, should it? I thought the boot unlock button on the fob just allowed you to go ahead and open the boot without unlocking all the passenger doors? Because you can also set the door unlock function to just unlock the drivers door on once click, then all doors on double click. So I though the boot unlock was just a similar feature?

Having re-read my owners manual I think the boot does not have this function! As my mk1 s80 did I thought my mk2 would as well! Thanks for your input!
