Volvo on Call and Alexa now supported

Hi All,

Been browsing the prime day deals and came across the amazon echo. It seems it now supports Volvo on Call: https://www.amazon.com/Volvo-Cars-On-Call/dp/B07L7KP7W4
(turns out Volvo on call also works with google and Siri since the update 3 weeks ago: https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support...alexa-and-siri)

Firstly, I have never used or had Alexa before - is it any good?
Secondly, has anyone with Volvo on Call used Alexa to control your Volvo - I guess it is marginally less effort to say to "alexa - heat my Volvo up" than open the on call app and a few clicks.

I'm awaiting your thoughts on using Volvo on Call through Alexa!

That's interesting, if only because I have Alexa in nearly every room in my house plus the office.
What I really would like is to be able to access all my Amazon Music library on my car, ideally to [selectably] download into the head unit rather than stream, which uses data every time all the time.

The Alexa integration has been around a little while now, I remember setting the skill up, I believe, as far back as last year possibly.

Does work well, generally, but perhaps telling that I've only just remembered about it after seeing this thread!

To be honest, I personally find it generally quicker and easier to use my watch and phone though. You can respond to notifications (eg cars unlocked) almost immediately.

If Alexa was integrated into Sensus though......

It's only a skill to enable Alexa (or Google) to operate the On-call app unfortunately.

I've actually had the Alexa skill enabled for some time now (if I had to guess, I'd say longer than a year), it isn't a new feature.
