hi all
ours is a n reg 96 model and everything to do with fuel system says bosch on it. does this mean i have the one pump in the tank and shouldnt go hunting for something thats not there ?
so whats this tapping noise !!!!!! still cant uplopad a photo though when i press on upload it just clicks and does nothing.
the noise comes directly from the pipe after round pressure thing on the rail end after the injectors. a photo would be so simple ! o the wifes just said the photo is bigger than 50kbytes allowed its 1.17mb thats why it wont upload doh.

That would certainly appear to be the case Martin, one pump (uprated compared to the earlier in-tank unit). It is possible that the "round pressure thing" (fuel pressure regulator) may be starting to go faulty or that the pipe may be in contact with something metal which is in turn in contact with the head. A clamp without it's rubber grommet could certainly be the cause. It could also be one injector starting to go faulty. It is a case for detailed examination of the components to be carried out even swapping one or two components for known good items. Hope you soon find the cause and can be happy again with your car.

I think that your wife deserves a kiss for being so helpful. Anyway check with Bob/Tony as there are certainly some photos larger than 50 kb that have appeared on here. It may be the limit on your ISP that is causing the trouble.

All the best, Peter
