Default 2012 T4 6 year/108,000 mile service

Afternoon all,

Is anyone able to tell me what's involved with the six year service for a 2012 T4 please? I've searched online and can't find a service schedule for this model, and it's not listed on Volvo's service price indicator. I selected the T3 instead (essentially the same engine I believe) which gave a quote of over £800...does that indicate a cam belt change?

Many thanks

I was quoted £730 by Volvo at Preston and paid £530 at my local indie yesterday.Cambelt and aux belt are included. That was a T3.the T4 is the same engine just a little bit more power.

Many thanks. I'd completely forgotten this car has a timing belt so it's come as a surprise!

You need to do a little bit of research here as Volvo specify a cambelt in the tick box at 6 years however have a statement of 108,000 miles to a maximum of 10 years.

I wonder how many miles yours has done as I would personally get it done at 8 years or 80k although it is clearly very much upto yourself.

That’s interesting - it’s about to go to 54000 so at face value it does seem low for a cambelt. I don’t suppose you know where service checklists can be downloaded?

There are a lot of people on here with Vida and Dice. If you pm one of them your model; year and rev number they will be able to look. Mine is a d5 so could very well be different.

Put an ad on the forum and if you don’t get any luck in a few days I can have a look.

Clan is a Volvo master tech and he will know.

Thank you. I spoke to a trusted indy who looked and said it isn't due until 10 years or 110,000 miles, I queried that with one of my local Volvo workshops who have confirmed this. Volvo service without belts will be £252, I think very reasonable with breakdown cover included. The indy is more expensive on this occasion.
