Default Headlamp repair

Ok, so front brakes sorted and now locking fuel flap sorted, thanks Cheshired5, next is the headlamp.

The image shows the problem. I have tried to locate the plastic lens part but to no avail. I don't really want to be paying £130+ for the complete unit if not necessary. So my question is this. Have anyone ever repaired such a crack and if so what did you use to repair it with?

Needs replaced with a 2005 up with plastic cover. Not that easy to remove, has screws on both sides accessible from the outstide of the engine bay, bolts at the top, the bumper cover needs lowered a little and also detached from near the wheel... good to practice first at the breakers on a scrapped car.

Hi Oragex, thanks for your input. I have no problems removing bumper. Was just wondering if anyone had ever attempted a repair. None of the breakers in my area have, and rarely do have Volvo's. Testament to their robustness I suppose.

I have attempted repairs like that with epoxy. It works for a limited time. Longer on rear lenses where the heat is a lot less. By the look of that there are as many more cracks there that are invisible. Even if the repair sealed it properly, I can't see it lasting very long.
I imagine that a very skilled plastic welder could have a go. He probably got good after the first fifty attempts failed.

I have a pair of headlights from an ‘07 V70. One is crystal clear, other slightly fogged but can be polished out. Make me an offer.
