According to the manual- it's not there. All google returns is pre-release articles.. There's only one official Volvo reference to BLIS with Steer Assist on Volvo US (http://volvo.custhelp.com/app/answer...is%29-overview) but it's been last updated in 2017..

Point is though that the pricelist, order confirmation, and the brochure (at the time) say it's fitted - and more specifically, paid for. :-)

There appears to be two distinct systems, Lane keeping Aid (LKA), as part of the Intellisafe function and Steering Assistance at the risk of collision, which is activated by a virtual button in Sensus.

Also you can look on the Driver Display, to see if you have the lane indicator graphic (two angled lines that look like road lane markings, page 392 of the manual), to the left of the clock.

To see if you have LKA, go to Settings - My Car - Intellisafe, and if you have it you should be able to set Assist, Both and Warning, as your options.

Steering assistance, if you have it, once selected to on, activates the steering assistance for Run Off, Head On and Rear End collision.

LKA only works above 40 mph. Steering Assistance works above 40, 37 and 37 respectively.

I forgot to mention that, even if you have the LKA, it will only work if the camera can see distinct lane markings, above 40mph. It’s the same with Pilot Assist; the system needs to see those markings otherwise the graphic will be greyed out, rather than bright white, on the driver display.

@Fursty Ferret: I don't understand how does one "provoke it into action with a controlled test".. Can you really do a "controlled test" of steering into oncoming traffic at 60-140km/h?.. Also, per manual: "..if the function detects that the driver is actively driving the car, activation of the function will be delayed."

This is the link to the upgrade - not only for V90

Thanks Mavi57. Interesting.. Volvo Philippines?! And a search for that part no. (32261825) doesn't return much..

I was able to dig up the below info from Volvo Canada. It seems that there was a midlife upgrade to Intellisafe - but according to Volvo Canada MY18 vehicles already have this feature. Why there's no mention of it in the manual (or my MY18 XC60 spec - and I have Intellisafe Surround..) is really unclear..

"The functions "Run-off road Mitigation", "BLIS™ with Steer Assist and Cross Traffic Alert" and "Oncoming Lane Mitigation" have been introduced from model year 2018 and "Oncoming Mitigation by Braking" from model year 2019. By updating your earlier model year vehicle with "IntelliSafe Support Upgrade" you receive the same system as vehicles that left the factory during 2018 and 2019."

Would the Intellisafe Support Upgrade be applied as part of the software upgrade carried out ordinarily as part of the routine service promise? Ie would a 2018 car serviced a month ago now have this upgrade following the service?

I cannot say definitely but I would think not.

Volvo knows that it can charge for adding functionality. I would think that the software upgrade carried out as part of servicing would only cover existing functionality.
