Default Central Locking Solenoid????

Hi

I have a 95 850 T5 with an aftermarket Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm and associated remote fob (b4 I bought the car).

The problem I am having is that the car wont always lock using the fob ... it wants to, the alarm sets and a dull clonk can be heard, but the locks dont move. Occaisionally it locks ok.

It always unlocks and disarms on the fob without problem.

I have been told that this may be the solenoid of the lock. Does this sound reasonable? If so any advice on changing it, the door panel doesn't look too maintainence friendly!

I have tried cleaning the boot lock as described in a previous string without success.

thanks for any help
