Thermostat
'72 145 B20, removed the thermostat housing to resolve a small coolant leak and found that the thermostat fitted was a 76 degree. This seems pretty low and my experience with Amazons triggers memories of 89 degrees being more normal. To add to the confusion, I have three seperate invoices that came with the car for 82 degree thermostats but obviously none of them fitted. What have other people found to be a suitable temp stat in the UK climate?

82c thermostat is the best choice.

The 'Green book' and Haynes refer to type 1 and type 2 being marked 170 and 82degrees, but doesn't say what defines type 1 or 2.
