Default leaking fuel pump connections

here photo of leaking pump on a D5 V70 , I think its the outgoing connection , there was more diesel than shown here as mopped some up , could also be the plastic ring is leaking but not as likely as there should be no pressure on this . When I have been able to get the fuel pump out to repair the cross feed pipe I will start the engine with the pump cover off to see if the connections are leaking . You cannot see clearly from the photo but the plastic splines/webbing quite a few are broken so want to make sure I dont break the sealing ring completely.

thanks Mike , will try my local main dealer for the O rings , if I cant get them will fit banjo clips. I would pay for a new 120mm diameter replacement plastic retaining ring as well but will be surprised if they can supply it as a separate part , that way I could just cut the old one off , its really been hammered into place and difficult to move , its that tight I think it may have been cross threaded with the main fuel tank moulding .

Dealer prob won't sell the O rings seperate... Get yourself to MAplin and get yourself the Rolson 419 piece O ring seal kit - O rings in every size/diam you are likely to need - £6.00 and yes, they are Nitrile, so Bio proof...

I got a kit a couple of years ago, have pulled me out of the cr@p a few times... Keep one in the van and bought another recently for the garage....

Details

Rolson 419 Piece Assorted O-Ring Kit

* Contains almost every O-ring size you’re ever likely to need.
* Ideal for the garage, workshop and for general plumbing use.
* Manufacturer’s warranty included.

Mike , at £6 its got to be worth having , I can see some sizes in the kit that will also fit the oilways on the D5 sump which I am doing some work on at the moment , these seals would probably be £6 each from Volvo , as you say thats if they will sell them , will get one next time I am near a Maplin .

I had the same problem, thanks to you guys I changed the Fuel filter and it drives like a dream again. This thread saved me a potentially expensive trip to the dealer.
