New Volvo V40 Owner Confused.

Last friday I bought a V40 ( black) so the mrs can commute in relative safety.

its an R plate (98?) and a 1.9TD

There I get confused, elephant insurance reckoned the 1.9Td came out the following year.

Its definatley diesel ! and its definately Turbo'd.

Its done 132000 with two cambelt changes so far, not bad condition though.
Half leather, heated seats, air con, cruise ( on a manual!)

I've only driven it a few times and its growing on me despite the washy gearchange.

Thanks to another link on this site (JSeamans very detailled guide ) - I hope to remedy that this weekend with the aid of the kit from "parts for volvos" website.

My question is ............... What make is the Engine?
I've heard rumours of Peugeot diesels, Audi/vw units all being used, and looking through the Diesel engine list confused me even more !!

Anyone shed any light?

It's a Renault F8QT engine and is fitted to the S/V40 from '96 to '00. It's also fitted to various other makes and models.
