Default Changed the coolant on V50 but leaking from drain plug?

As title, as soon as I screwed the plug back in at the bottom of the radiator and test drove the car I noticed a very small leak. I figured it might be what's sprayed on the undertray jut dripping away so left it.

A week later and it's still dripping but not loosing anything from the reservoir so I've ignored it. I've had the car up on jacks yesterday so figured I'd tighten the drain plug and true enough it's still got plenty of turns on it so screwed it about 1 and a half clockwise turns and left it at that as was worried it's like a plastic thread so don't want to ruin it. It felt like it had loads of turns left.

Now the coolant is leaking much quicker and noticed a substantial drop in levels in the reservoir.

Are you supposed to renew the plug at the same time as renewing the fluid? Or have I done something to mess this up? I've got enough spare coolant and water mix in the car to keep me going short term...

Any ideas?

This is pure guesswork but did you perhaps leave out a little gasket of sorts?

Having said that, tight should be just that, tight. There are recommended torque settings - in case you don't know your own strength
