Default My Baby Has Arrived 3 Weeks Early...

Hi,

I ordered my new XC70 SE Lux (D5) at the end of September and was informed the Delievery date was the week before Xmas. There were a few dealer fitted extras I ordered so wasn't expecting to pick the car up until Xmas Week, a nice Xmas present for my self.

Anyway, I got a call for the Dealers this morning to say its just been delievered, they still have there extras to fit etc. but now looking like I can pick it up at the end of next week (3 weeks earlier than I expected).

I had to get my insurance sorted and it's costing me an extra £12 for the year, new for old if written off in the first 12 months and they are giving me 7 days free cover on my old car incase I can't pick it up on the due date, the Dealership also arrange 7 Days Free Cover so they can Tax it etc.

I'll post some photos once I have the car.

Question good luck with the new car ,

can you leave it for a few weeks so it can be classed as a 2012 car? rather than 2011.hope you have many happy miles togeter.

If you are going to keep your car a short time - less than 3 or 4 years it would be better to wait and get it registered in Jan 2012 as it will be worth more come trade in time. However, if you are going to keep it long term then it won't make much difference. Get it as soon as you can and enjoy.

I'm picking it tomorrow, what I loose on the new car in a couple of years time I'll loose on my current Part Ex. waiting another month, they wanted me to have it the other day, but got into Dec.

I'm getting £2k over the book value on my Part Ex.

Well I picked her up this afternoon, all went very well and everything just how it should be.

I think it looks really good (To be true full I wasn't sure if I'd made a really big mistake, had a couple of sleepless nights this week over it), whether it's to anyone else's taste I'm not sure, but the salesman seemed very impressed by it.

Just driving her (I'm already calling it a her....Mmmm) home a few things I've notice:-

First the Bad:

Sat Nav; the Sat Nav on my old XC70 I could enter a FULL Postcode, but this seems to only allow you to enter the first few digits and then you have to enter the Steet Name & House Number. My house has a Name not a Number so can't find my way home....lol

Is there a way to enter the Full Postcode?

The Sat Nav (again) doesn't have Speed Cameras, I know you can add POI, but how easy is it to do this?

Now the Good:-

I can watch a DVD Film on the Screen...(very cool)

Bluetooth streaming from my iPhone

Sports Mode on the Geartronic Box

Electric Dip Stick now shows the level on the Dash, so no guessing anymore.

That's all for now, I have taken a few photos of her so will post some later tonight when I can edit them down in size and see what you guys think of her.

Default A Few Photos of the New Lady....

Here a few photos, the light was going so they aren't that great. If the weather is better over the next few days I'll take some more (but she'll be all dirty by then).

It is Caspian Blue and it has Black Interior with Cross Avenue Trim.

I think it's the Spoiler and the Side Stuff Plates that finish off the exterior.

I'll do some of the Interior, it's just been peeing down all day here and it's already full of my C**p.
