Electric fan conversion..has anyone done one?

700/900 Series General Forum for the Volvo 740, 760, 780, 940, 960 & S/V90 cars

Rversteeg Master Member Last Online: Today 13:57 Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Amersfoort (NL)	Backing plate / shroud No expert in english language, but I guess the shroud prevent air from braking out sideways from the fan, thus impriving the efficiency. When stationary, the backing plate prevents hot air drawn in by the fan into the engine compartment from recirculating back through the radiator or worse, through the fan again. The rubber flaps act as a sort of non-return valves.
