Either 4-speed + Overdrive (M46) or just covering his butt.

Alternatively too lazy to go and turn round before picking up.

Because he's a battery salesman, not a mechanic.

It'll probably be fine, I've done similar.

Luke (360beast) is breaking a 940 at the moment, not sure if the rad has gone (as in sold) or not but worth an ask :

From the pics on the first page it looks similar to your engine/rad so you might be lucky.

3 choices for rwd on a tow dolly:

1-Lock the steering wheel and tow it backwards (rear wheels forward)
2-Disconnect the drive shaft and tow it front wheels forward
3-Put it in neutral with the parking brake off and front wheels forward

I think he chose -1 over -3 because of the towing distance involved

Option 3 is the usual and if the keys are in so the steering lock if off, gives a bit more articulation making turning corners easier. It also gives less stress on the steering lock compared to option 1.

Do you have 4-speed + overdrive or a 5-speed box on yours? If it's overdrive, that would be a very good reason to tow it with the rear wheels suspended.

M90 5-speed because '96

No sense to pick-up this car in the rear. Zero

Don't waste time and money in used radiators. Never.
If you will have a used one in your garage or get one for nothing it maybe ok. Maybe.

Check all hoses and the heating valve now. With air-conditioning the valve is in the engine bay and made of plastic.

Good luck, Kay

Should be a 5-speed but it's possible the original box was changed - if it's 5-speed then like you say no reason at all not to pick up the front.

Only reason i suggested the used radiator from Luke is because it was in regular ish use until a few months ago. Storing used radiators unless they've been thoroughly flushed and dried before storage is a certain way to make them rot so even a good used one in the garage might not be any good now.

Hi, it's the M90. I think he said it's RAC standard procedure to use that method for old rwd cars, something to do with if they have a certain type of prop shaft?

After seeing what happened to the old one I'd be tempted by one of these

No connection to me I just like new shiny things
