Doesn't the use of a Stoplock take more time than the comfort of keyless entry can save?

Well I generally only use the Stoplok overnight when these relay thefts take place so overall its a small price to pay to minimise the possibilty of another theft. I really can't face the prospect again of going out to my car and it not being there!

I expect that just having a farady pouch is adequate but having to claim on the insurance again in such a short space of time if stolen is not something I want to do.

I bought the same Stoplock Pro and use it in the car over night.

Yes it compromises convenience slightly, but not as much as finding my car gone from the driveway.

Was it fitted when they tried to gain access?

No. I went out to Halfords, yesterday morning, to get one.

Bit coincidental that both of them were attempted in the Pinner area no?

Have you two had a chat on the PM system to see if you can possibly link the two crime reference numbers together if Philip's hunch is right and it's the same gang?

You never know might help!

As far as I'm aware all we can do is keep the key in a pouch!

Unless you have the reputation and skills to ‘dominate the stairs’ which not many do, its not a movie, in locking your front door and leaving the key in a faraday pouch, inside the house and having reported the first incident to Police, you have done everything reasonable to prevent the theft and successfully claim on insurance.

Its a sad reflection on society that increased vehicle security has turned a lot of car thefts into a Brinks Mat style robbery.
I wouldn't leave the key in the hall I wouldn't give in so easily. If they want my car they will have to go through me. I dare them!

You are right, the inconvenience is certainly not as much as having your car stolen!
But to me, the inconvenience of using a Stoplock is much higher than using a key,
which you have on you anyway, to open or lock the car.
It seems as if keyless entry is a must have for some, no matter what the risk or the inconvenience is.
Perhaps I would feel the same if I had you enter and leave my car a lot during the day.
