2003 V40 Service - what is included in each one?
Hello,
I'm a new Volvo owner (the car itself definitely isn't new!) and I have a couple of questions, please? I apologise if this has been asked, but I have searched as best that I can and haven't found a definitive answer. I purchased a 2003 V40 2.0 Petrol and the service book doesn't actually seem to explain what items are actually covered with each service. Is there an online manual or resource that would explain this, please? Also, the timing belt got done at about 60 odd K in 2010 and the car is now on 120k. I would like to know when this gets done again. I thought maybe another 20k, unless being almost 10 years ago it may need another change? |

If in doubt and you want to keep the car, get it changed anyway in my opinion. Worth the expense to avoid the much bigger expense and inconvenience of a smashed up engine!

Hi thank you for the reply. Do you know where I could get hold of a break-down of what items are included in each service, at all? I'm used to seeing this in the service book of other cars, but not this one! Thanks. |

- Oil filter - Fuel filter (diesel) - Air filter - Cabin filter - Oil drop and change A lot of places will do various other checks such as brakes, tyres, fluid levels, auxiliary belt etc although these should be routinely checked by any car owner anyway of course. Could be worth ringing a local dealer, maybe making it sound like you're interested in taking it in for a full service, and ask them what's included as they'll probably be more than happy to run you through it if they think you'll be spending ££££ there!
