Centre Console Fan Speed Control Won't Switch Off
Encountered a strange occurrence yesterday with the climate control fan speed controller on my XC60 (2013) failing to switch off the air distribution thru the grilles on the dashboard.
Turning the engine off & even locking the car up fails to stop the fan & therefore it's permanently 'live' & drains the battery. After connecting the battery charger, the car starts but shows a DSTC fault but were initially unable to unlock the electronic handbrake. Following a couple of attempts Volvo Assist managed to release the handbrake & we managed to finally load the car onto the recovery vehicle. Has anyone experienced this problem with the climate control fan speed before ? Thanks

Somebody had the same issue here. Sounds like it might be the blower resistor.

Many thanks Chrisv60
Certainly seems to be cause, so I'll await the dealerships response & repair cost over the next few days

Update...
The car has been diagnosed as having a faulty fan control unit which has now been replaced & has solved the initial problem. The tech also found a contaminated alternator belt which prevented the vehicle from charging (replaced) plus an oil leak which requires further investigation.
