I've got General Grabber UHP fitted last July when I bought my car. So far I've done 12 500miles and tread depth looks pretty good. Last December swapped rear to front. Winter in Poland could be quite harsh, being gentle here, tires have performed superb on snow, mud and off road. I don't count ice as nothing would help there except chains and studs.
A bit loud I would say however can't compare with anything else just yet. Tires have S+M marking, size 235/65/R17. I will take photos in next few days.
Forgot to mention that roads aren't great over here so car and tires are being tested pretty well, I would say!

Default Vredstien Wintrac 4 Extremes

I took Roy MacDonalds advice and fitted Vredstien Wintrac 4 Extremes on an Executive with 19" wheels, just over 10,000 miles now with summer and winter running. Car is quieter and tread is hardly worn, the only downside is that the steering and braking are not quite so sharp as with the Pirellis! I can also recommend Vredstien Ultrac Vorti summer tyres if you don't want to run all year on Wintrac 4 Extremes.

Default XC90 Tyres

The original tyres on my 2007 XC90 struggled to achieve 20k miles whereas the replacement Vredestein Quatrac 3 tyres have done over 30k miles under comparable driving conditions but my tyreman was unable to get hold of any more!!! So now I`m on Pirelli Scorpions on the basis of availability.

Where did you order these from and much if I may ask?

I have Nokian WR G2 Sport Utility 235/60 R18 107V XL on my XC90 but need to replace the fronts. However, it seems these are not available anymore. Does anyone know if it is okay to mix these with WR SUV 3s?

Unless I am missing something, I think I have just seen the G2s on mytyres and tyreleader. I am currently looking to replace my tyres, and a quick look on this thread seems to show a preference for either Vredestein Wintracs or Nokian (G2 or SUV 3). All of these seem to have a low rating for wet grip though, and the Vredesteins and G2s a similarly low rating for fuel efficiency. Any comments on that?

The first replacement tyres I bought were Nokians, and they lasted forever (50K plus if memory serves). When they went, they were no longer available, and the then preference seemed to be for General Grabbers. They have lasted much fewer miles (unsurprisingly), but I can't find the receipt to check exactly how long. However, I did notice a definite increase in fuel consumption by a couple of mpg, hence my search now.

Does anybody have any views on the ratings mentioned, and also whether the Vredesteins or Nokians are better overall - the Vredesteins seem a little more expensive at the moment.

Thanks in advance.

Kevin

Just checked again, they aren't on mytyres but they are on tyreleader.

I have just looked back at my posts (in a fit of work avoidance) when I was getting the Grabbers, and it looks like I might have got around 35000 miles out of them, so not too bad.

I got my WR SUV3 from oponeo and paid €150 per corner incl. delivery.

I found quite a few places that had WRG2, but they were all new old stock and pricey (€200ish per tyre)!

So far I am very, very happy with the SUV3 - I have don3 about 3-4k miles and they are grippy, extremely quiet and seem to wearing OK, although ill obviously need to do more miles to be sure.

Thanks very much for the information. Sounds like it will be the SUV3 then. They have the best ratings for grip and mpg, although I don't think I have really seen anything on how they last, and they are also the cheapest of the ones I was considering.
