DSTC Service error
Hi,
I was traveling on the motorway (around 200km) and the engine cut down to 2000 revs and brought up the the error: DSTC Service Required -and- Engine System Service Required The error lights are: Volvo S60 DSTC system warning light (Stability and traction control system) -and- Volvo S60 triangle warning light (Orange) The whole car shakes when I'm accelerating. Turning and braking seem fine. This is for a Volvo S60 2012 model. Any help would be very much appreciated. |

The symptoms are similar to my own XC70 - with "DSTC/ABS service required" on the information system.
I have read the codes (Which I expect you'll need to do or get done) and it gives a number of options. Without the codes, there are MANY more things that could be wrong - hence the lack of replies to ths thread? At least I have tied mine down now to which wheel is causing the issue, with likely sensor, wheel bearing or pulse wheel being to blame. |

I had this recently and it turned out to be an Wheel sensor connected to the abs. £174 including VAT at Volvo due to availability of getting it booked in. Local Volvo independent quoted £135

I had this problem with the 2014 XC60 when descending steep and twisty slopes on two occasions, I rang VOC from the car and they suggested I waited until the next day and if it continued they would recover the car to the nearest Volvo gaage. Fortunately after a few minutes driving on the following day the message light went out. The problem occured a year later when driving in the same type of countryside, this time I kept on driving and a few miles on levelish road as opposed to steep twisty roads the light went out.
Any codes that might have been stored were not noted at the next service. I did not get a repeat of this behaviour with the second XC60 in similar steep and twisty roads.
