Wink volvo 940 1994 towbar wiring

Hi,Could you help I have fitted a towbar(single electrics) to my 1994 volvo 940 estate i have all the units ie bulb failure unit and bleeper but i am afriad ive not a clue how to wire it into the loom,this matter is very urgent.regards Stephen

Hi folks,
Just to clarify I have all the bulb failure and bleeper bits its for a single socket and its to fit a volvo 940 estate 1994,my holidays depend on this info.regards stephen

Hi there
do you know if there is a multipin plug in the boot. It should be on the near side under the floor, close to the side of the car. I have a 1997 model and there is a plug do there. If it does have a plug, you can just wiring the socket in to that with out any relay passing. If you let me know I will look at the wiring on mine and try to remeber how I did it.

The 1989 740GLE has the same set up and is simple to fit .

Below is listed the 12N socket and the D5 socket in the back on the car. I have checked these with my wiring and the only one that is different is the fog lamp. I have taken this from the fog lamp via a cut off relay. Hope this help you to do the wiring.

Pin Cable Colour Function
1 Yellow Left turn signal
2 Blue Fog light's
3 White Earth
4 Green Right turn signal
5 Brown Right hand side light
6 Red Brake lights
7 Black Left hand side light

D5 socket (in Car)
Pin Cable Colour Function
1 Green Left turn signal
2 Purple/white Fog light's
3 Black Earth
4 Blue Right turn signal
5 Grey Right hand side light
6 Yellow/Brown Brake lights
7 White Left hand side light
