Default Front coil springs xc60

Good afternoon to all , has anyone got a rough idea how much it is to have both front coil springs replaced on my Xc60 d3 awd 2.4. Having had the clutch replaced two weeks ago my car did not just feel right from the off. Spoke to the garage and had car booked in for this tuesday. However today as my wife got in to the passengers side we herd a loud crack and front of the car dropped. On looking at the fronts springs both were out of there locating plate. It seems strange that both springs would break. Any thoughts from other members please. I can assure everyone I haven’t hit any pot holes or traffic humps recently.

I had a front near side spring break about two weeks ago just as the car was being moved. I had previously had a strange banging noise from the front end when going over potholes. 4 inch piece had broken off the bottom of the spring. You could see where it had initially fractured which was very rusted an about. 3rd of the diameter whic was bright shiny metal.

I replaced the spring myself with a genuine Volvo spring which had to come from Sweden. About £150 per each. Glad I only needed one!

Car sits perfectly level now.

Thanks whyman for your reply. Was it £150 just for one coil spring?
