She’s still with us gathering patina as we speak.

We are currently in talks with but not committed to, two enthusiasts rather than the scrap yard last chance corral. We really can’t see it through another winter here as she really could use more love than we have to offer, especially after our car cover was stolen during last winter.

We would just rather not see her go to a scrap yard bless her.

This Car has had a deposit put down on it and I'm pleased to say that she will NOT be going to be broken down.
This WILL be restored at some point after all!

Thank you to everyone that spoke, discussed and perused this car. All of your help and advice has allowed this car go from lover to lover rather than to scrap.

I'm just so sorry that I personally couldn't do the work myself.
She's been a truly lovely car for the 20+yrs we've had her. And never let us down.

just to update everyone, I put a deposit down on this car few months back, and i can confirm i have finally taken delivery of it this afternoon.

it needs what i would describe as being a minor recommissioning rather than a restoration, body and paintwork look to be in great condition, will probably benefit from a mop to bring shine out. engine needs a good service but appears to run and drive quite nice also cam-belt is due so this will be done as one of the first jobs

hopefully back on the road in daily use before spring, anyone else have a dealer fitted Volvo car phone? not seen one before, so just wondered how unusual it was

kind regards Ben

Mine originally had a car phone of some description, whether it was dealer fitted or not i don't know but still got the car-phone aerial in the middle of the back end of the roof and the aerial cable inside the roof.

It's about the right length for use with DAB so i plan on leaving it there, think it works out as 1/8 wave for DAB but can't remember, i did work it out once.

Glad you've finally got it and are looking forward to getting it back on the road fairly quick! Is that with a "rolling-resto" of the finer points once it's mobile and legal again?

Hi dave, mostly yes, plenty of jobs to do before it's ready for mot but, other minor points such as headliner and seat swap etc will be as and when, I'll bear I mind the idea with Dab as that may be a nice feature to have

Regards ben
