I've got a very good B230 FT bottom end you can have cheap, it's one of the later ones, squirter block engine. It needs stripping and cleaning because some idiot in the scrapyatd removed the head and left it sitting but it came out of a low mileage crashed car. Alternatively I have a known good complere engine, again late squirter block.

Have you tried skandix?
Edit: Here's a link to 7/900 series piston. It says restricted on engine type but shouldn't they all be the same piston for the B230 engines except high compression for the N/A engines and low compression on the turbo engines. It would be best to contact them and ask if the piston will work for a B230ET. You can also get oversize pistons. http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts...ndard/1023878/ Last edited by 360beast; Nov 10th, 2012 at 22:38. |

Yeah I have seen them on scandix, that's where I figured they were gonna be pretty pricey! I might just have to look at either storing it for a while until I get more funds together, or stick a new engine in and be done.
From what I can ascertain, the ET and FT pistons are different because of the dish, with the ET version being more dished which lowers the compression ratio more than the FT items. |

ET piston
For some reason that eludes me now, I'm sure I have one B230ET piston hanging from the roof of my garage.
I'll go and unhook it and see what condition it is in........... |

I have found my old ones and I am sure they are 0.3mm smaller than the new ones i have but they don't look in very good condition so not really suitable for fitting

Piston (not) broke
I have the piston. Looks grubby but in good condition. From a low mileage 760 that was crashed (on purpose) nearly 30 years ago!
Also, the ET piston dish measures 3mm deep. A B230FK/FT piston has a 4mm dish. Use that information wisely. I'll get a photo of the piston. |
