Okay. So i am finally the possessor of a volvo !
Its the silver one that was on gumtree. J69 FMB Or 'Ingrid'
as she is know called. After Ingrid bergman, a Swedish actress from the 50's-60's.

I will be starting a new thread all dedicated to my car. Im well chuffed with it!

Thankyou for all your help in my long struggle to buy one. The blue car that was stolen and crashed or 'huldra' as i was going to call it will hopefully become a spares car,
to which im sure many of you will be pleased to hear ! Ill post a link with my first post below. Incase anyone is interested
thanks again!

These are self adhesive high reflective strips, white for front, red for rear. They are not standard on any model but are available as accessories to fit most models. They go back as far as the 140 and tend to be added to the older cars with the black bumpers rather than the newer ones with body coloured bumpers.

Ahh that makes more sense now. I wondered why every one i had seen had the red on the back and white on the front. !
Thanks for that !

Other than conversion as also mentioned, if you want luxury as well as diesel then hold out for a 940 with some extras. This SE, like my GLE, has got optional leather, air con and electric seat.

Another option would be a 760 TD mk2 but that is indeed the proverbial "hens tooth"
Found a hen's tooth..........
