Evening all

How the hell do you remove the spare wheel in a V90 with third row seating?

I can't figure it out. Is it a case of having to let the air out of the tyre? The one fitted to mine is a steel wheel but not a space saver. Is this right?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Can't answer for the V90 but on my first 740 many moons ago (the only one i've had with the extra seats), there was a fairly obvious (when you look for it) catch that if memory serves, released the cushion part so it could swing up to the backrest and leave unimpeded access to the spare wheel.

Was nearly 20 years ago now so might have the details wrong, perhaps check in your handbook, after all it got in there so it must come out..........

My experience with a 940 a 960 and V90 all with third row seats is that to access the spare wheel I had to remove the seat cushion( the part that bums go on and swings forward when you fold the seat) I kept the appropriate spanner handy thankfully in about
10 years only needed it twice.

11 mm?. I think.

Does the V90 come with a small toolkit like the 760 does? Small plastic tray on the inside of the right hand trim, turn-button latch and the tray folds down to reveal some spanners, screwdriver (double-ended) and a couple of other bits.
Chances are the right spanner will be lurking in there if so.

Hi,

On my old 745 it was possible to lift the spare wheel out from under the bum rest part of the seat once the back rest part had been lifted up.

When I sold the old girl I took the child seats out to fit into the 945 replacement so my Grandkids could enjoy the same fun as my children did when younger. I then had the same problem as you - the 945 wheel was thicker and would not drag out from under the seat.

As already stated keep a spanner in the boot for when you need to get the spare out. It is only necessary to undo one side of the bum rest part and you can then wriggle the wheel out. Make a note of how the various spacers fit together on the bracket for reassembly.

To the left and right of the seat are two double bolt brackets that bolt the seat frame into the boot floor. They are just out of view under the carpet. Unbolt either side and lift less than an inch and that is enough to pull the wheel out.



Careful if you have a bad back, it is a horrible and awkward lean into the car and ripe to put your back out!
