Default V70 ABS module......update

I removed my abs module from my car (1998 V70 2.4 10v petrol auto) and got my dad to re-solder all the dry joints. (while the abs was off the car the speedo/mileometer and headlights didn't work????) anyway, I put the re-soldered abs unit back on the car and..........nothing! on a wet surface the brakes lock up under heavy braking -no abs input. Is there anything else it could be?

Thanks all

(ps headlights/speedo/mileometer working again once I refitted the abs module).

I recently had a similar problem with my ABS on my 850. Changed just about everything, including getting the module refurbished, and it turned out to be the ABS rings, which start breaking up due to age.

Oh, and be sure to replace them in pairs and they should have 48 teeth IIRC.

Don't do what a "specialist" from Cowdenbeath did to mine and only replace 1 of the rings which had a different number of teeth to the other one - it didn't really resolve the problem and caused different issues.
