240 GLT

1) Ride - rear axle is a bit clumsy (more controlled with Bilsteins though)
2) Far too reliable - needs to be more 'challenging' to become a proper classic - see under Lancia/anything Italian (perhaps not !).

Other than that, I love it - perfect car for £250

99 s70 only things i can reallly think of that i dont really like about it is that mine hasnt got heated seats and with leather interior gets a bit cold when you first get in lol and that the electric window switch doesnt light up but i probably only struggle with that due to me forgetting where it is lol.Other than that i love the car.

1, The backrest release catches being in the boot - you can't reach them and the seat backs simultaneously unless you actually climb in the boot! I'd prefer them to be located in the passenger compartment by the rear seats or on the rear seats themselves (a la estates)

2, Lack of illuminated steering wheel buttons.

3, The temp gauge being above the trip computer and the fuel gauge being above the warning lights. Apart from it making more sense to group all warning lights and gauges together, and to group fuel gauges and info on fuel economy and range etc, the gauges are reversed when compared to all the older Volvos so anyone 'upgrading' to an S80 from even a 960 or S70 finds the gauges on the 'wrong' sides to what they are used to. I've lost track of the number of times I've been impressed that I still have 1/2 a tank of fuel but the car is running cold.........

1996 850 T5 Auto

1. Headlights are poor - my current 850 is much better than my previous one for this as the reflectors were replaced a few years ago but they're still only average.
2. Numb brakes - they do the job fine but rarely inspire confidence
3. They should all have the R front bumper

2005 S60 T5 Manual

1. The turning circle. It's terrible.
2. Engine is too muted, I want more T5 yowl
3. OK it's a saloon, but why do saloons never have a rear windscreen wiper? I like to be able to see what's behind me and it annoys me when the rear screen is covered in stuff and I can't wipe it off.

1989 740 GL: Two things really. First, the flywheel weighs 35 pounds and just kills throttle response. That's the main reason I converted it from an automatic to a manual. At least I can get some RPMs up before letting out the clutch and give myself a better launch, even if it still takes forever to go through the rev range. Second, the headlights. They're awful. I think it has something to do with their placement in relation to the road because I've heard similar complaints here before and since the European version uses totally different lights than my US version, it has to be their location and not their design. I just fitted Sylvania Silverstars to it and they've made a world of difference. I can actually still see I have the lights on when I'm in streetlights now; I couldn't before. I also like the whiter light.
