Default Will turn over but won't start

I have had the car for a little over a month and has ran great up to around a week ago it had started struggling to start when cold but started fine when warm. Until yesterday it didn't start I called the RAC who arrived today and told me it is the high pressure pump.

I am looking for anything else I could try before purchasing a high pressure pump

I have changed the fuel filter and looks as tho the RAC have bled the fuel system.

It now starts but immediately dies

I had a problem that sounds similar to this.

I found that a previous owner had spliced in a manual diesel bulb pump by the fuel filter, and the clear line feeding the high pressure part of the fuel feed (tubing loops around from front lower left by the black round housing (fuel filter) to the top upper right had aged and become brittle.

The line was letting air in, either from the bulb pump or from the joint at top right - I could go away in the evening and come back in the morning and see that fuel had siphoned away from the top right part of the hose - so no diesel feed to the high pressure pump, and therefore no start.

So, I replaced the clear hose with new hose and ensured that the joints were a very tight fit (had to use hot water to soften the hose to get over the fittings). This has worked well for a couple of years now. At the same time, I also changed the fuel filter. I found re priming the system a real pain - there is an air release valve on or near the fuel filter housing that is essential to get the air out of the fuel filter - in the end I think I filled up from the high pressure end of the hose until there was only fuel coming out of the fuel filter housing vent (a bit like priming my old fish tank external filters). I believe you can/should use the fuel recirculation valve to prime the system.

you need to get this professionally diagnosed, you will be spending big money by not doing so, it sounds as if it hasn't been bled properly with an in-line hand pump after fitting the fuel filter. but that is step 1 to confirm...
