Turbo Part Numbers
After many years abuse my turbo has decided it's had enough !
I know it's a Mitsubishi TD04 and can still read the serial number on the little plate but the rest of the info has gone. The plate was red and I thought I had a picture of it somewhere. Does anyone know what wold have been fitted to a 95 B230FT ? I am hoping I can get a new centre section but need to know the number off mine. Thanks. |

It's a TD04 13C without the wastegate which varies on whether its an HPT or LPT. You can used either, but the HPT is significantly more powerful.
Just get it refurbished, or there are apparently good used HPT units on ebay for £120. |

Thanks , still using the car and can't be without it really so a bit stuck. From what I have found I believe the number should be 49189-01000 which is supposed to describe exactly what parts it's made up from.
If anyone has a turbo from a 95 ft and could verify the number I would be grateful, thanks. |

Hi Steve,
As Tony has said, all the Mitsubishi TD04 turbos are the same for 940s, the only difference being the wastegate controller which is factory set as follows: B230FK 4.5psi B230FT 7.4psi B200FT 8psi I have a B200FT wastegate controller on my B230FK which has turned its original 135bhp to probably 170bhp. A nice cheap and easy upgrade. No other mods are necessary - the maps in the ECUs are fine, as are the injectors etc etc. Regarding your part numbers, I have added a scan of the parts catalogue for you. However... there will be many superceded parts with different numbers out there. I did have another document showing them all - I'll try and dig it out for you

I don't think it's the Volvo part number most places require it's the number put on the turbo by Mitsubishi themselves. I've looked through a lot of service notes I have and some greenbooks in the hope there might be a cross reference somewhere. Most of the companies who supply the Turbos work from the number on the id plate. I expect a specialist Volvo supplier would know what fits what but it's just numbers to anyone else.

OK, give me a while to do some more digging I'm sure I have a cross reference page bookmarked somewhere...

Looking at the lists one of the suppliers does have some Volvo part numbers which tie up so thanks. |
