I've always chosen Volvo insurance when running a volvo, compared to other insurers taking account of the the compulsory excess and other features for a like for like policy comparison they aren't too bad.
Having just returned to volvo having had a break with jaguar this is the first time I've used volvo insurance since they stopped using RSA, and I too was amused by the sales patter about them being the only way to make sure that your car is repaired using only volvo parts.
On volvo's own uk website they offer a free accident assistance service, no matter who you are insured with, and say...
"It is your legal right to have your car repaired, where you choose. Naturally, we would recommend that all Volvo's are repaired using a Volvo Approved Bodyshop where Volvo repair methods are followed and only 100% genuine Volvo parts are guaranteed to be fitted during the repair process."

You guys think you've got problems -

I live in France and I've just insured my recently purchased 2002 C70 - annual mileage limited to 9,000 kms and a premium of 546 euros !!!

We have 2 other cars - a Mazda MX5 - insurance 565 euros and a Peugeot 407 estate - insurance 460 euros.

On the other hand, there's no road tax in France.

£180 road tax, £320 insurance, 12000 miles a year cover, 2000 of which class 1 business use.
I'm still way ahead of the game compared to France.

We are indeed well off.
