740 Turbo Estate 1989
This vehicle started life as my company car in 1989 and has been in my care ever since, so there are plenty of records including the original purchase invoice.
It has 202,000 miles on the clock, seven seats, a new exhaust and MoT until August 2018. It is kept in Groombridge which is near Tunbridge Wells on the Kent-Sussex border. It is in fair condition but definitely not pristine; its principal functions over the past 10 years have been short trips to the station, house-moving numerous children and dump runs. It has pale blue metallic paint and a black leather interior. The asking price is £450 or thereabouts. I have finally decided to sell as it is the third car in the family fleet and over the past year has covered less than 500 miles. I think it would be a fairly straightforward restoration project. Please contact me through this site or trevor.harrison@groombridge.com or call 01892 882536. A Few Pictures The roof box and locking roof bars are also available. |

Not something you probably want to hear, but someone is most likely going to buy this and turn it into a drift missile. And for £450 too. They're going to get themselves a right bargain.

I'm afraid you're probably right, casheye. My basic 740 cost not a lot more than the current scrap car value nowadays, and my son loves it - used every day to replace his VW and get him to clients places with the car loaded with pest repellents!
Only today I visited the local independant Volvo garage as I saw a decent-looking 740 outside it last night. That isn't for sale - original owner still loves it and it was having a bit of work done, but last week he declined giving £100 for another he was offered so the owner gave it to a group of drift-boys, no doubt to be done to death. I reminded him I still want one, for me this time.... P |
