Default Paint on bumper

Hi.

I have a problem with my bumper. We did some decorating in the house and stupidly left a tin of paint on the drive way with the lid off. Anyways the tin filled up with rain water and then seagulls started to splash in the tin and flicked paint over the front of my xc90.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips of how to get the paint spots of my bumper. The bumpers on the car are the black plastic textured type.

Any advice is appreciated

Thanks

Hi, I would suggest acetone. Try some nail varnish remover (acetone in small quantity) first on a small area. If it works, you should be able to buy larger quantities in many forms from hardware stores. Acetone is sold as a cleaner for impact adhesive overspill or graffiti cleaner, but be careful as my experience is too much may damage plastic.

Oh, make sure you are in a well ventilated area, like outdoors.

Hope this helps

Hot jet wash first to get off what you can?
Any sort of solvent will likely spread the paint so try and dab not wipe!
If it's dry you could try really strong gaffer tape, keep sticking it on the paint and pulling it off, you may peel it if you are lucky.
This is also the best way to get chewing gum off seats!

Depends on the paint type , emulsion can be removed with kitchen nylon scourerpad and hot soapy water.oil based paints ? Try water based paint brush cleaner as it rinses off with water (without any solvent).Do not tough any plastic with acetone it will destroy the surface .It may need several applications too avoid damage.
