14% off XC90 and 14.5% of XC60

I've never bought through DTD, but as far back as 2006 have used them to agree a good price with my local dealer.

I managed to buy mine with 20% off and I did the configuration myself. Had to wait for the car for 4 months but it finally arrived.

I had 14% off just due the fleet discount due to the company I work in, then on top of that I've got other cumulative discounts from the dealer itself.

For people that dont have access to fleet discounts, this is a great deal.

I got 13% off on Carwow with a configured car to my spec.

But in the end with a possible 6 month wait for the hybrids I found a nearly new one which had 2k on the clock for 25% less than the RRP (so 13+12 in together) - with the caveat that it didn't have one or two things on it that I wanted (laminated side glass and 22" alloys - probably got lucky on the second point!).

13% seems to be the going rate for T8's through Carwow. Managed to get a similar discount in October.

My local dealer matched (and beat) the carwow offer on being shown a screen grab - so if you want it from a particular location it's always worth asking around as you might save even more.

There were a couple of dealers who couldn't get anywhere near the carwow price (or at least said they couldn't!) - West London Volvo emailed back saying that I was getting the car for less than they could source it for (of course probably not true but anyway)

Volvo owners club discount is usually quite good. I think you have to be a member for 6months or so though before using the discount.

I normally find that is true with all Central London dealers, I actually had one confess to me that they only get a certain allocation of these cars from Volvo UK each year so if they can sell them at close to full price because there's enough people in their catchment area that will simply pay that price, it makes no economic sense for them to sell any of their allotment for less unless they have to for some specific reason.

Thats the closest I've got to the truth behind those go somewhere else comments. Normally only happens on really popular cars though and dealers in really big urban areas. If they are about to miss their targets they probably just turn the last few vehicles into demo or fleet cars and then write them down for a few months / get kickbacks from Volvo UK until it still works out less of a loss than giving us the bigger discounts!

I secured a 13.5% discount on my XC60 T8 through Carwow but had 3 dealers desperate for the sale. My local dealership said that was cheaper than they could source it the car themselves and bowed out of the price match challenge.
The one I ended up going with included the Polestar Optimisation, Autoglym Lifeshine, changing the colour of the wing mirror end caps (to body colour) and a full tank of fuel just to secure the order from me. They are also trying to get hold of the type 2 - type 2 cable as well as the mains plug in cable for my delivery.
A month after I ordered mine, the dealerships XC60 T8 demo went up for sale (very similar spec), 4 months old and 6,000 miles for 2 grand more than my order cost me, only bonus would be missing out on the 6 month wait for the car to arrive.
The deals are there to be had, just wish the wait was a bit shorter...............
