Default 240 friendly garage??

Hi.

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic who’s well versed working with a 240 please? Ideally based within an hour of Chesterfield.

I have a 1 previous owner 240 GLT saloon with just 56k that needs recommissioning. It’s been off the road in a barn since 2011, and the main thing I want is for someone to get it running well. The tank will need to come off, as there’s standing water in it.

If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know. I’m in no rush, and can leave it with someone for a while if needs be. The main thing I’m looking for, is knowledge and experience working with old Volvo!

Thanks

I'm in Worcester and I'm a self employed mechanic, I haven't worked on a 240 before but I've done loads of 940s and 360s so I know my way around a redblock, PM me if you want.

Thanks
Luke

Volsaa Engineering in Derby. Have used for Cambelt/basics on 240 and 940.

https://volsaaengineering.com/

I bet "360 beast" would be cheaper and do just as good a job, if not more thorough/have time.

James.

Burton and Wilson in Lincoln are 240 friendly. The are an Indy Volvo repairer. The main chap there grew up on them and I have used them on a number of times.
He greases all the nuts and bolts he takes off - as he may be the next one required to undo them.

Maybe just within the hour from Chesterfield.

Cheers Luke, but Worcester is a bit far for me I’m afraid, especially as I’ll have to have to car transported.
