Track down previously owned V70..?

Long shot but just wanted to float this here to check I'm not going mad!

I sold (circumstances required), a 1999 V70 back in 2011 to Ruffday (on here) who then possibly sold it on in around 2016 (spotted it on eBay).
MOT has run out in 2016 and the DVLA can no longer show if it is taxed or not?

Does that then mean it has had a destruction order, i.e. properly scrapped? or possibly a number plate change?

I'm just curious really... and work is a bit quiet!!

If the tax section is greyed out and says 'tax data not available' then it has more than likely been issued with a Certificate of Destruction (CoD) and yes, sadly more than likely scrapped.

Maybe slightly off topic, how can I find the UK licence plate for my car since it has been changed to Spanish plates (no details when I bought it) Can the VIN help in anyway ?
