Battery charger with vida
Hi folks
I'm in the market for a new battery charger. I've seen a few threads (which I can't find now) stating that if playing around with vida, it's best to have a battery charger connected. Does anyone have a recommendation for the current rating of the charger? I presume a 2A charger won't be sufficient, but on the other hand, if I go for a 12A charger, will it make anything go pop? Normally I'd just go for the big one, but I'd normally charge the battery outside of the car. Cheers guys |

I'm also looking, but turns out, it's either c**p or very expensive... Did you find something suitable? If so, we could discuss them here. I did take a look at Amazon, but as I said, very expensive and the reviews aren't good either... Maybe someone has something like that in use and could talk about personal experience.

Try CREk, not cheap but cheaper than a new battery!

Can't say that, because this is exactly my problem. A CTEK with power supply (for use with VIDA) is around EUR 190.-, and the reviews are not very good. Seems they work just a little bit over the guarantee time and fail directly afterwards.
A new battery is around EUR 100.- tops, and should hold up longer than the two years. I don't need a battery charger per-se, I already have two of those. What they can't do is supplying constant power for longer working with eg. VIDA...

Argos has a basic 12A charger for £32. No good for stop/start cars or fancy batteries but should be more than good enough for my needs.
https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8096...charger:1:24:2 Does up to 160Ah... Need to go check my battery first. Last edited by HankScorpio; Jan 22nd, 2021 at 17:06. |

After a bit of looking around, I've just got a 45A charger. Cheapest place I could find it was on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Röhr-Batter...1525456&sr=8-1 I saved £20 and bought a used one (in very good condition aparently) |
