Ignition coil broke and replaced, car wont start
Good evening all,
I have been the happy owner of a Volvo V60 2013 T6 for 2 years now. Had a V50 before that and a V40 before that Nice car and already driven 40K km with it (bought it at 130k km). Now the ignition coil broke on the highway last week. This is 2 weeks after a service was carried out including the spark plugs were also replaced (not the ignition coils) In the meantime we have been back and forth to Austria, 2000 km. I was driving home on the highway (a 5 mile drive) and the car started to "hiccup" once I accelerated slightly. So hold back, stutter and shake a bit. A friend on the phone mentioned that it was probably an ignition coil. After driving the last 5 kilometres I got home and then the car died when I came to a stop. There was a very bad smell of burnt electronics in and around the car. I couldn't recognize any gasoline smell in it though. The obviously defective ignition coil has now been replaced, but the car still does not start. The V60 has also been hooked up but does not give any messages... Does anyone know of a similar problem? So the ignition coil broke and replaced, car doesn't start and no messages? |
