Question Road noise.

Hello all. Have had rear wheels, discs and calipers off today to check rear wheel bearings, as there Is a lot of noise coming from the rear at speeds between 20 to 50 mph. When spinning the Hub's they give off a "dry" type of noise. sounds like they need grease. Having said that, I don't think the hub's are the cause? I have two different makes of Tyre fitted to the rear, Pirelli p6000 and Goodyear nct touring. Having had an Afternoon of swapping wheels it seems the tyres are the cause, the worst being the Goodyear. Has anybody had experience of tyre noise and which make and type give the least amount of road noise? I'm also thinking of putting sound proofing material behind the paneling over the wheel arches to reduce the noise. Any Info would be welcomed. Thanks.

I've got Pirelli P-Zero on mine which are great, can barely hear any road noise with windows closed
