RTI Discs

Hi all.
I have just bought a 2004 C70 T GT Convertable, in it is a factory fitted sat nav CD system with a remote control. Problem is I cant get it to work. I have managed to get it to open up and a "welcome" screen comes on but then nothing else, I can leave it for an hour and nothing happens. If I remove the disc it shows "no disc inserted, insert map disc", then when I replace the disc "please wait" appears and stays.

Apparently the battery has been disconected for a while, as I had to put in the radio code before that would come on (SC 901). I don't know if that would make any diff.

I have been told I might need a system disc to re-boot the unit first or poss just cleaning. I ran a "normal" CD / DVD cleaner but to no avail, the unit re-alised it was not volvo and asked for a map disc.

So does anyone know if it can be taken out and cleaned manually or has a Volvo cleaner, or better still anyone near BELFAST that has any of the aforementioned that they can try in my unit to see if it's working?????
