Evening..
I have a 98 v70xc that idles and runs well generally however it caughs or judders, once only, at what seems to be around 50-60mph, appears to happen only when lifting off and back on the throttle very slightly when traveling at a fixed speed.
Im about to replace the vac lines, cleaned throttle body & idle control, pcv system replaced, plugs dont look v old. Delayed checking the fuel pressure regulator/filter, painfull to access on these I believe.
What do you think?

Hi,

Probably worth reading about symptoms of a failing ETM

Did you sort this?

1998 so likely not drive by wire (ETM).

My first look would be MAF sensor, I've had several start to fail just as you describe. If it's original part, it's overdue failure.

After that, maybe look at cam and crank sensors.

Fuel filter is easy access / change, cheap and should be done as routine maintenance anyway. Belt it a few times with a hammer for a possible short term fix.

Hope this helps.
