How remove wing mirror glass?

Could someone please tell me how to remove the wing mirror glass on a 2002 v70?

If you can't get your fingers around the outside edge of the mirror to pull you can insert a soft plastic trim removal tool on the inside (nearest the car body) and gentle push the mirror glass away from the car body to release the clip.

Thanks for the replies gents.

I’d already watched that video and a few others.
The mirror comes out enough for me to be able to pull it, but it just doesn’t want to come out.

How hard do you need to pull on it? As I’ve given it some firm tugs but it won’t budge and I’m worried about breaking some clips.

Once you've slid three fingers behind it, pull it towards your hand with some force until it slides 'laterally' about half an inch, then while keeping this pulling force, move the mirror forward 'perpendicularly' to free it on the side where the fingers are. Once it's freed on the fingers side, the other side will be free to come out - don't forget the wires if it's heated, pull gently on the connectors with a pliers, not with the fingers. Also the video shows how to engage the small spring rod (or plastic tab on the other model of mirror)

Thanks for the instructions, I managed to get the mirror off, found it was faulty and have ordered a pattern part from ebay.

Welcome. The heating element gives up quite often, fortunately easy to replace (again, careful when ordering as there were two shapes of glass, depending on the year)

Cheers, the warning light in the dash has gone out now so I think just removing the current mirror and refitting it must have fixed a loose connection.

The new part has arrived but I might as well wait for the error to come back before fitting it.
