I have just fitted an Essing performance tuning box to my D5 XC70. It brings the power to 204bhp and 428nm of torque. I have had previous cars remapped eand the difference was night and day. This is no doubt quicker but in a nice linear fashion. To be honest it should of come from the factory feeling like this.

Overall I'm impressed.

Thanks Jonathan.

Kind reminder: don't forget to check your spare tire pressure. I did inflate mine 2 years ago, yesterday it was sitting at only 20psi - nominal pressure for the spare tire is 60psi.

Oh yes. I do this all the time for neighbors.
A spare @ 1 atmosphere won't do you much good.

I filled an old man's (regular customer) spare and he said he didn't care because he has AAA (breakdown service-CAA, RAC etc.). I told him that was great but when a AAA wait is 3 hours on a Friday night a full spare gave him an option.

As always, people have SOMETHING to say when getting out of ANY work is involved.

Replaced an ABS sensor on the off-chance it would cure my brake failure/ABS light. The brake failure light is gone but the ABS light is still on, so guess I'll look at the reluctor rings next.

Update: driver's side reluctor is cracked. Guess I know what I'm doing this weekend!

Don’t leave it too long, a cracked reluctor ring will happily break an ABS sensor...

The eBay vendor already shipped the replacements, so I'll change them both out this weekend if they get here in time.

After removing the old reluctor ring, remember to clean well the area on the CV joint off any rust, and coat it with some anti-rust spray, before installing the new reluctor. These reluctors crack mostly because the CV joint surface is rusting underneath the ring and the rust is pushing against the ring causing it to crack.

Shelf fitted back, just sits a little proud, tend to do a lot of miles and don't want to have to do 2-300 miles at night on a spacesaver.
