Default Fumes inside S40, but the exhaust and manifold are fine?

I took my S40 1.6D SE to Kwik Fit today to check the exhaust as I am getting fumes into the cabin on tick over or very low speed (i.e. 1st and reverse gears). They checked it and said it was absolutely fine, and not leaking anywhere. I've tried extending the rear pipe out so that it goes past the bumper, but it made no difference.

What else could it be? It's coming in through the vents as when I have the blower on recirculate, there is no smell.

Take the engine cover off and look for diesel around the injectors, could be a leaking spill pipe. Happened to me, I'd get diesel fumes in the cabin whilst at very low speeds or tickover.
