Default What is this?

I think I've found the source of my exhaust fumes leak, does anyone know what this is? I've added arrows to show where the fumes are coming from. I noticed a bolt that does not appear to be holding anything as the plastic flange it fits through is snapped, but I don't think this is the source as the fumes don't seem to coming from here... Prize for anyone who can tell me what the 'alternator looking' with green arrows coming out of it is!

Am I right in saying that the EGR valve puts some fumes back into the turbo, so if the turbo had a leak they could be leaking out?

It won't be your turbocharger more so the exhaust system instead. The pipes you highlighted should smell of exhaust, as they are the turbopiping (to intercooler) and are blasted through with fresh air...

I had the exhuast system checked by Kiwk Fit earlier, and they said it was all fine. It only does it on tick over or very low rev, like first pulling away or in reverse, once I'm in 2nd gear and above there is no smell at all.

Recommend a can of "leak detector" and spray along the seams of the plastic pipes and joints/flanges. Should prove it either way.

Be interested to know the results.
