Default Help required with my 850

Basically I have an 850 T5 S which runs like a dream

Yesterday I got into my car, turned on the ignition and 'both' the Air Conditioning and the Recirculation LED's flashed in time, they repeatedly flashed in situ exactly 17 times.

This happened all day yeasterday and has happened again this morning

Is the car trying to tell me something, if so does anyone know what?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Regards

Rob

This indicates a fault in the a/c system, you need to get the codes to see what it is. It may be dust/hair in the sensors behind the front grab handles stopping the fan from turning, or another sensor or pessure switch on the ac unit. Does the system run cold if you turn it down? Does the air feel the same at each vent? It may clear itself after a few days, all depends what it is.

Have a look at this thread:

You will need to make up a simple circuit to read the fault code.

If I was guessing I would say you will get fault code 414 which means the fan has stuck in the drivers side temperature sensor.

It's in the roof behind the grab handle, you can remove it, clean the dirt out and give the fan bearing a light oil to fix it.

A Haynes 850 manual shows the fault codes and the method of removing the sensor.

I had a similar problem on my 850, If you turn the fan to the zero setting before starting the car do the light still flash, if not its most likely to be the heater fan located behind the glovebox.

might it be telling you that the outside air temp is too cold for the ac?
