It seems we have success. If anybody like me has the Info Centre with 2 bulbs then the part number for the bulbs you need is 9148908. You will need to remove the blue rubber cap from your old bulbs and put them on the new bulbs.

One of the bulbs went (two on my car) so I nipped into a local motor factor and found one that looked almost identical. Sizewise it was the same so I gambled my 1.79 and tried it. Works a treat.
I put the original blue cap on the new bulb.

Default Damn Dealers!

So after reading all your help on here(thank you), visiting Maplins and finally realising i'd spent too much time on this already have just ordered all three for the heating controls from Volvo, they are £7.92 each now!! Maplins only had 5mm bulbs and they wouldn't fit the holder, they would only be white anyway and was worried about painting them. So if someone finds out where to get the lamps that fit a 2001 P2 V40 with climate control, I'll buy six of them as spares to fit to the holders i have, or if someone wants the holders, I'll send em on.

Only a shame such cheap items are so expensive through the stealer's!

Did you order them through FRF/Rufe? I got mine for something like £5.50 each

Does anyone know of a current source for LEDs to fit the headlight panel?

All three have blown on mine - if I have to do some wiring to fit 3mm/5mm LEDs into the plastic mounts for the original Volvo bulbs I will, but I'd rather have an easier solution. These things are smaller than many twistlock bulbs seen on eBay
